Busy days

And I’m finding I just can’t do as much as I want to. I start out with ideas of what I want to do and then end up knackered part way through. Some days are better than others. So, today a picture post for you. It’s the result of putting up a bit of cheap willow trellis stuff to fix the rose to, fixing the rose up, planting out a few more peas, finally sorting out the little window box/hanging basket on the kids playhouse/shed, and showing Dino how to use the camera. The pics are his, apart from the saucepan and the one of him!

Growing things.

Tea - well some of it.

Kids.

Mousse and Blake’s grave.

Not bad for early photography!

Accidents happen

This morning a distraught Dino brought Blake in from the garden. Dino had been carrying him to the outdoor run and Blake squirmed and bit him. Dino dropped him and Blake died a few moments later.

We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo….

Well, we just got back actually. A soggy wet day - which was a pain for walking about and the animals were all hiding but great for my sunburn. Yes! Sunburn! Spent Tues in a friends garden and was bright red at the end of it. Someone grabbed the kids and suncreamed them so they escaped although they did get very very hot. Stayed overnight near friends house and stopped at Twycross on the way home.

Kids cooling off in the sun on Tues.

Think I can get these past the keepers?

The elephant paddock used to be permanently muddy and generally yuck. The elephants looked a lot happier now it’s been refurbished.

After teasing Dino about his height we discovered that he only comes up to just over this fella’s knees!

Had a fab time - knackered now.

Motte and Bailey Cake

Cake in the rough style of a chocolate motte and bailey castle. Coming over for a slice then Claire?

I was feeling very fat and a bit anxious about the induction booked for the 14th.

Happy Birthday Dino! You avoided the induction and changed my life. Thank you.

He’s had a fab morning with a few presents and we’re off to see friends this evening and Daddy on Saturday. We like to spread birthdays over a few days, it’s more fun and reduces the overload. The cake is cooling and will be iced later - with chocolate fingers to make it look like a castle. I’ll take pics as the day goes on and upload them later this evening. In the meantime, just for Claire!

Making the first bug.

The red bug - it reacts to any remote control so is driving us nuts each time anyone changes channel on the telly!

What is a side effect?

Like weeds really - the standard analogy of a rose in the cabbage patch. Still a beautiful plant but in the wrong place - hence it’s a weed. So after "Scary Stuff" (see post below) I am taking more drugs than I have ever taken in one go before. And yes, hating every minute, before you ask. One is Norethisterone. I’ve been on it since last Weds and will be taking it until next Sat. 12 days in all. So, side effects?

Indigestion, irregular or abnormal bleeding, bloating, fluid retention, breast tenderness, weight gain, feeling or being sick, headache, dizziness, insomnia, drowsiness, depression, itching, skin rash, acne like spots, hair growth, hair loss or jaundice (yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes). **bold and italics are MY addition**

Insomnia or drowsiness? No idea as I’m so damned tired and dozing all day. I’m all bloated and uncomfortable, lovely. I have tender boobs, lovely. But when at midnight last night I was lying in bed wondering when the world would stop spinning so fast and why I was so freezing cold - I thought it was time to yell for help again. I wasn’t cold. I was a bit hot actually but unable to stop shivering. Thanks Claire and (not so) Small person who came to the rescue adn had a long chat with the lovely night shift at the local hospital who said it was a combination of those side effects and one from the Tranexamic Acid that I’m also taking, but only until tomorrow. One of the side effects of the TA (apparently) is a short term loss of personal temperature control. Hence being hot and feeling cold.

Right, I’ve just reread the Scary Stuff post and realised I didn’t say much really. It was a period gone wrong with way too much heavy bleeding - but the underlying cause is unknown and I don’t normally have periods that heavy. So the TA is to stop the bleeding and the Norethisterone is a hormone to help with it too. Oh and loads of lovely ferrous sulphate to boost the iron levels. Yummy.

Side effects? No they’re not. They are effects of the drug being taken just not the one we want to utilise in this situation.  Oh well, one day of the TA and 6 of the norethisterone, then perhaps I can get somewhere near normal again

Scary stuff

After passing out in the bathroom at 4am I was rushed into the local hospital where I promptly passed out again, several times. That was Wednesday morning. By lunchtime I was on a ward with blood going in one arm and various things on the other. Wasn’t allowed to even sit up, let alone get out of bed. 2 lots of fluids and 3 units of blood later my blood volume and iron levels were up enough that I was allowed to go to the loo alone!

They let me out late on Thursday.
