Oh Yessah!
Oh yes, done it again. Once I’ve slept for about a week I’ll be back blogging in a near normal fashion, maybe even some education might happen here.

Oh yes, done it again. Once I’ve slept for about a week I’ll be back blogging in a near normal fashion, maybe even some education might happen here.
Mimi brought me one of the really really simple books and told me she can read it. She’s been doing this for the past year or so and she tells me some story about the pictures and that’s fine. But this evening she was sounding out the words and actually reading! I think if I can fit in a short reading session with her every day she’ll have cracked it before too long.
Dino’s arm is now all better, thanks those who asked after him. He’s working on his writing and it’s really coming on now. still a mess but a neater mess than it was and he can see the difference if he concentrates. He’s still being intuitive with the maths and seeing patterns in the numbers. He still struggles with letters and words though.
I spent a lot of yesterday evening very distracted over these…

A box of nine copies of MY book? How brilliant is that? All paid for and in need of scribbling in, by me, the author. More soon, Maddox needs me in engineering…..
Well, sort of. Dino has always struggled reading aloud and to be fair, I don’t like it either. Don’t ask me to do a reading of my book, I’ll hate it. I’ll happily scribble in it for you, have a chat but read it aloud? Nope. But I’m wandering….
Dino can read, pretty much anyway. He stumbles and isn’t confident but he can do it. So we’ve switched from "read to me" to "read that and tell me the answers to these questions." Still practising, still reading but with more emphasis on understanding and teasing information from the words. He also has his first dictionary and I’ve caught him using it! He’s started looking at how division works and once again the numbers and patterns make more sense to him than letters and words. His wrist aches as the muscles rebuild - the pot came off a week ago and we still have it here - it’s disgusting but he wants to keep it.
Mimi is developing into an independent little sod with a strong will of her own. Mostly this is very very good as far as I am concerned but it does pose a challenge! She’s close to reading and I’m debating increasing the time I put in with her on that. I think she’s just about ready but I don’t want to make it horrid for her.
I’m sure there’s more but Nano is calling…..
Dammit I wasn’t going to.
I seem to be on a space ship with Isidro and Maddox……
See you in December folks. The madness that is NaNo has me by the keyboard once again.
