Pumpkins
We declared a draw in the end ….
His is the greener one on the left - nicer shape, lovely markings and slightly lighter weight at 1.11kg. But it recovered after almost being lost to a late frost and Dino nurtured it to that size. He’s very proud. Mine is the all orange one on the right. It’s a bit bigger at 1.53kg. It had the advantage of benign neglect and a lovely sunny spot to grow in. Both will become small lanterns for Samhain and the insides will be soup or pie.

Nice one R! Well done you! The power of nurturing, eh?
Oh, and well done you, too, mummybonkers

It’s special plant food (really stinky) and the last guinea pig cage clean after his pig died - in combination. He has a rough recipe for plant food, I must get him to jot it down so I can blog it.
We have sweetcorn doing crop circle impressions now, and mutant sunflowers threatening next doors fence like Triffids!

Sunflowers are all done now and forgot to take pics before they blew over. Sorry. They were easily 8 feet tall with flower/seed heads larger than Mimi’s head!
We’re planning to grow more next year.
