It’s November.

Here we go again…. Expect gibberish and incoherence for the foreseeable future. Well, worse than usual gibberish……

Oh, and I’m on Smiths again….  That’s 2 books on there, both showing on Amazon too but not Tesco or Waterstones yet.

My kids are amazing

We’re vegging today. Telly is on, kids are entertaining themselves and I’m doing my own thing too.

So Mimi chose some colouring and did several pages - she’s really neat now and she’s reading more and more! Dino grabbed a maths book and did a page, then sat curled up with a Horrible Science book.

After that they decided their volcano from ages ago needed work so they spent a couple of hours working together on that. Yes, a couple of HOURS, working together with no stropping, no arguments and no stress.

Then it was lunch time - our own fresh eggs, boiled with toast. Yummm.

After lunch they did a bit more on the volcano - deciding that if they don’t set off an eruption they’ll have the thing to play with for ages - they’ve added caves, a river and done loads of work on it with more planned for tomorrow.

When they ran out of paste and paper (it’s a papier mache volcano with a half juice bottle crater) they wanted the telly back on and we found Walking with Dinosaurs. Dino is suiting his blog name - he catches a glimpse of a dinosaur and he knows what it is before they say which it is. He’s been spot on every time so far, bar one but I bet he doesn’t get it wrong again.

Today is what home ed should be like. Today is what I want life here to be like. I think I’m going to go and find them a nice rewarding snack.

Oh, and I seem to have two books on Amazon now….

Read my book for Free!

http://sarahbarnard.co.uk/freeread.html

Free eBook download until the end of June.

Sam has been missing for two long years. Kate struggles on with her own children and Sam’s after Jack left her but she continues to believe that one day Sam will be back. It’s Hallowe’en, Samhain and it’s a dark moon. Abruptly in a flurry of mystery and magic, Sam is back and Kate’s already insecure world is torn apart as forces beyond her experience and understanding flood into her life.

Of course I am hoping that some of you might go on and order a copy because reading on screen can be a pain, and that you’ll tell everyone you know about it too and then some of them might go and buy a copy……

Available through Amazon, The Book Depository, and through all decent high street book shops - but you’ll have to order it.

Oh and I could use a favour if you feel like it…

When you’re next in your local library, can you please ask them if they could order The Portal Between into stock?

They should be able to and most libraries don’t charge for this service, or don’t charge much so it’s not like going out to buy a book! Of course, I’d been even more pleased if you all went out to your local WHSmith, or other bookstore, and ordered it there instead, but the library would be fab. You might have to borrow it once but if fantasy isn’t your thing then you don’t have to read it, they’ll never know…

Details for ordering:
Title: The Portal Between
Author: Sarah Barnard
ISBN: 978-0-9556887-0-6

Thanks!

Blimey!

Blimey, The Portal Between has appeared on Tesco.com.

Oooh, and Books-a-Million, and WHSmith, and the Book Depository, and Blackwells.

Not on Asda, Barnes & Noble or Waterstones yet and I haven’t found it anywhere else, but I’ll keep checking and seeing how far it’s got.

If you see it anywhere, can you let me know?

Damned slugs.

Eaten most of my sweetcorn plantlets (bigger than seedlings but doing ok). emoticon Me no happy. I had 10, now I have 4 empty pots and 6 that might live but they’ve been seriously munched.

Playing on a new, just for fun, blog inspired by a series of conversations with an assortment of people since Christmas about what we (the kids and I) want to do if we ever get rich. When, we get rich, When I sell loads of books…. Must be positive about this.  So, In my big house... is the new blog, feel free to drop by and offer suggestions, which we might add in or we might ignore. But it’s fun anyway. I’ll be adding links to things we’d like to add if I can.

In other news -  I’m on Amazon.comemoticon but not on .co.uk yet, apparently it’ll be a few days but it’s been a few days for over a week nowemoticon. If you want to take a peek then The Portal Between can be found here. Search inside is being processed and should appear soon too. It’s all very exciting! Chesterfield Library now have a copy so anyone local should be able to request it now, I think through Derbyshire but I’m not sure. However, if enough people request it they might buy some more, which would be nice.

Kids have been playing chess, reading, keeping their own accounts - Dino is selling my surplus plants at our local HE group.  Oh and Mimi starts at Rainbows next week. It’s all go here, I’m tired. emoticon
